An example workflow

The same job. Less chasing information.

It is near the end of a shift. Your team has finished 80 units on Job 1042, but the completion is still on a paper traveler. The office is waiting to enter it, the next shift is asking what is ready, and someone has to leave their work to check.

In this example, the business uses NetSuite. Here is how we would connect that handoff so the operator can record the completion once and the next team can use the checked information.

Before / a manual handoff

The work is finished.
The record is still waiting.

Example: Job 1042 · 80 units completed

  1. 01

    Write it down.

The operator records the finished quantity on a paper traveler or a separate spreadsheet.

  2. 02

    Enter it again.

Someone collects that information and enters it into the business software later. Missing details may mean going back to the floor.

  3. 03

    Chase the current status.

Until the record is updated, the next team may need to ask whether the job is finished and which quantity is correct.

Where work gets held upYour team spends time entering the same information twice, tracking down missing details, and making plans from an out-of-date record.

After / a connected workflow

Capture it once.
Keep the next team informed.

Same example: Job 1042 · 80 units completed

  1. 01

    Capture it where work happens.

The operator scans the job and enters the finished quantity at the workstation. A supported equipment signal may also be used.

  2. 02

    Check it before updating.

The workflow validates the job and quantity and checks for duplicates. Entries needing correction are flagged for review before posting.

  3. 03

    Use the updated record.

The checked completion updates the agreed NetSuite production record. The next team can see it in the software they already use.

What changesLess repeat entry and fewer status checks. Once the update succeeds, the next team can plan its work from the completed record instead of interrupting the floor.

What we implement

A working handoff, from the floor to your software.

We build the capture step, connect it to the correct production record, and add checks for missing details and duplicate entries. Then we test it with your team and train the people who will use it.

Keep people focused on the work.

The aim is to spend less time copying records and chasing updates, with clearer information for the next shift. People still review exceptions and provide context, such as why material was scrapped.

Questions

Making it work on your floor.

What if there is no equipment connection?

A scan or workstation entry may be the right starting point. We observe the work on site and choose a capture method that fits it. Equipment compatibility is confirmed during scoping.

What happens if the network goes down?

Where an edge gateway is part of the design, it buffers events locally and replays them after reconnection, within its configured storage capacity. We agree the recovery behavior and review responsibilities before go-live.

How do you control updates to NetSuite?

Record mappings, duplicate prevention, processing limits and failure handling are tested in your sandbox and with your floor lead before rollout. The rules are agreed for your account.

How do we know the workflow helped?

Compare the time from production completion to system entry with the starting point, and review entries needing correction. We agree the measures during the assessment.
